As the largest French motorway operator, the ASF Group (Autoroutes du Sud de la France) has put its faith for years in the proven hardware components of MICROSENS. ASF, which belongs to the Vinci Group, finances, builds and operates the largest French motorway network, which leads to the most important economic region and one of the most important tourism destinations in Europe. These include, among others, the motorways in the South of France, the Estérel/Côte d'Azur/Provence/Alps (ESCOTA) motorways and the operating company Cofiroute.

This motorway network is more than 3,100 km long and connects France to Spain, Italy and Northern Europe. With an average traffic volume of more than 30,000 vehicles per day, the optimum safety of the traffic participants represents a major challenge for the operators. This can only be ensured with the help of reliable, future-proof, environmentally compatible and neighbourhood-friendly infrastructures.

Large-scale project for toll stations

During the large-scale project for toll stations, solutions from MICROSENS were used across a wide area. Originally, many toll stations were only equipped with PCs. In the course of the modernisation of the stations and of many new investments, the services of these have been substantially expanded over the last few years. In addition to typical control data for the access barriers that are connected directly via fibre optic converters, the till machines and the video cameras were also connected to the IP network. In one of the next stages of development, the additional connection of the voice services via VoIP telephony is planned.
